Eight Henlopen Conference teams made the DIAA dual meet state wrestling tournament, including the top two seeds in each division.

Defending champion Smyrna High is the No. 1 seed in Division I while Milford High, also a defending champion, is the top seed for the Division II tournament.

Cape Henlopen earned a bye for Division I with the second seed in the six-team field. Indian River is the No. 2 seed and has a bye to the semifinals in Division II.

Sussex Central is third in Division I, Caesar Rodney is fourth and Dover is fifth. Laurel is the other Henlopen Conference team in the Division II tournament and is seeded fifth.

The state meet will be held on Tuesday at Smyrna High. First round wrestling begins at 3:30 p.m. and tickets will go on sale at 2:30 p.m. The semifinals and finals then follow.

Tickets are $8 and are good for all three rounds. However, anyone leaving the venue will need a new ticket to re-enter. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at https://statechamps.com/clients/diaa/

First-round matchups for Division I include Sussex Central against sixth-seed William Penn and Caesar Rodney against Dover. William Penn qualified by winning the Blue Hen Flight A Conference and is the only non-Henlopen North team in the Division I tournament.

Division II will have third seed St. Georges against sixth-seeded Caravel and fourth-seed Sanford against Laurel in the first round.

Brackets will be reseeded after the first round with the highest-remaining seeds facing the lowest-remaining seeds.

The first round will start at the 160-pound weight class. The semifinals will begin with the 170-pound weight class and the finals will start at 182 pounds.

Basketball

Blue-Gold rosters announced: Twenty-six Henlopen Conference players have the Gold rosters for the Boys’ and Girls’ Blue-Gold All-Star Games, which will be played on March 18 at the Carpenter Center.

The girls’ contest starts at 1 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow in the event, which benefits Best Buddies Delaware. The games the top senior high school players in the state.

College basketball

WOMEN, Delaware 56, Hofstra 45: Sophomore forward Nicole Enabosi returned to the court following a bout with the flu and her presence was immediately felt in the Blue Hens’ CAA victory.

Enabosi, who missed her first career game Friday evening at James Madison, tallied 21 points and 11 rebounds with three assists and two steals. Junior Makeda Nicholas added 13 points and a career-high six assists while senior Erika Brown posted 10 points and eight rebounds as the Blue Hens (8-5 CAA, 14-10) snapped a two-game losing streak.

Delaware outscored Hofstra, 20-6, in the first quarter and never looked back as it improved to 57-12 all-time against Hofstra, including a 32-1 mark in Newark.

College softball

Florida 9, Delaware 0: The fourth-ranked Gators used an eight-run second inning on the final day of the USF-Wilson DeMarini Tournament.

Junior centerfielder Devon Steiner singled to center in the top of the second inning to account for the lone hit for the Blue Hens (0-5).
