Dover High won the boys’ team title with Smyrna winning the girls’ crown as the Henlopen Conference indoor track & field championship meet was held last Thursday in Snow Hill, Md.
The Senators finished with 168 points to top second-place Caesar Rodney (150) while the Eagles totalled 224 points to finish ahead of runnerup CR, with 103. Both meets included six-team fields.
The DIAA state championship meet will be held on Saturday at Prince George’s County Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Md.
Dover has finished first or second in he boys’ state meet in each of the last four years, winning the championship in 2015. Smyrna’s girls have placed in the top three in each of the last four state meets.

Hens’ Gonzales earns CAA honor: The Colonial Athletic Association recognized Blue Hens freshman Abby Gonzales as the league’s Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday.
The guard helped Delaware extend its winning streak to five games in a row, averaging 11.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds in victories over William & Mary and Towson.
Gonzales has registered 5.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 26.3 minutes played.
