Brionna Brooks netted 21 points and Alexis Reid had 19 as Caesar Rodney High downed Cape Henlopen, 67-44, in Henlopen Conference North girls’ basketball on Friday night.

Brooks and Reid combined to sink seven of CR’s eight three-pointers in the Henlopen North contest. The Riders (3-0) outscored Cape, 39-26, in the second half.

Dania Cannon tallied 17 points to lead the Vikings with Alia Marshall scoring 12.

Sussex Central 47, Sussex Tech 34: Azayah Garrison netted 19 points as the Golden Knights improved to 3-0 with the North victory.

Central built a 12-point lead going into the fourth quarter.

Lake Forest 52, Seaford 40: Grace Aguilar had 14 points to spark the Spartans to the Henlopen South win.

Hodgson 45, St. Thomas More 36: The Silver Eagles outscored the Ravens by a combined 26-16 in the second and third quarters to take control of the nonconference game.

Aniah Patterson had 13 points to pace St. Thomas More with DahNaija Barnes adding 10.

Indian River 37, Delmar 34: The Indians outscored the Wildcats, 5-2, in overtime to earn the Henlopen South victory.

Junior Latayja Atkins tallied a career-high 23 points to go along with 17 rebounds and four steals. Sophomore Julia Jordan added eight rebounds.

Le’Zhane Holmes scored nine points to lead Delmar.

Woodbridge 51, Milford 22: The Raiders jumped out to an 18-5 first-quarter lead en route to the Henlopen South victory.

Boys’ basketball

Cape Henlopen 62, Caesar Rodney 46: The Vikings built a 35-18 halftime lead before picking up the Henlopen North victory.

Randy Rickards scored a game-high 24 points for Cape with Ian Robertson (14 points) and Jerry Harden (10) also scoring in double figures.

Shaft Clark scored 11 points for the Riders.

Lake Forest 62, Seaford 49: The Spartans outscored the Blue Jays, 18-7, in the second quarter to overcome an early one-point deficit.

Cameron Lewis had 21 points with Kobe Mumford adding 19 for Lake Forest. Jaysem Vazquez chipped in with 10.

Seaford’s Andrez Jones (21), She’Mar Deputy (11) and Nathan Barrett (10) also scored in double figures.

Polytech 63, Dover 58: The Panthers downed the Senators in the Henlopen North matchup.

Sussex Tech 65, Sussex Central 62: The Ravens held off the Golden Knights to raise their record to 2-1.

Indian River 45, Delmar 38: The Indians earned the Henlopen South win over the Wildcats.

College soccer

Hens’ Delgado an All-American again: Delaware’s Guillermo Delgado, who set nearly every scoring record in school history and led the Blue Hens to two NCAA Tournament appearances, was named a third-team All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Delgado was among 36 NCAA Division I players throughout the country selected to the three teams and was the only Colonial Athletic Association player honored. He also was the only member of the three teams to earn All-American honors all four years in his career.

Delgado becomes the first male athlete in University of Delaware history to earn All-American honors all four years of his career and is one of only two in UD history to accomplish the feat, joining women’s basketball standout and Olympic gold medalist Elena Delle Donne who was a four-time All-American in 2009-13.

The 2016 CAA Player of the Year, Delgado is the nation’s active career leader in points (117) and goals (49) and is currently ranked seventh nationally with 1.68 points per game and 14th with 12 goals. Delgado finished his four-year career in a Blue Hens uniform as the school’s all-time leader in five statistical categories: points, goals, assists (19), game-winning goals (17), and shots (282).
