MILTON — Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge has provided the following information for the upcoming lottery deer hunts at the refuge:

  • Completed applications for the Nov. 20 and Jan. 15 early- and late-season headquarters deer hunts must be received no later than 4 p.m. Sept. 17. Applications will not be accepted over the phone or available on the refuge website. Applications can be filled out in person at the headquarters office of the refuge.
  •  Applications will also be available at the hunter check station or in the refuge hallway when the administrative offices are closed. Completed applications may be dropped in the mailbox at the Visitor Center.
  • The refuge will allow portable tree and ground stands. However, the use of nails, wire, screws or bolts to attach the stand to the tree is prohibited. You must use a safety strap while in your stand. All stands must be removed at the end of the day.

If you have any questions, call the refuge at 684-8419. Prime Hook NWR is located off Del. 16, on Turkle Pond Road in Milton.

A complete listing of 2021-22 hunting information and regulations for the refuge will soon be available online.
