Tonight’s games

Laurel (4-0, 6-1) at Seaford (3-1, 5-1), 6 p.m.

The two old Sussex County rivals square off in what in what is now a Class 1A, District II matchup.            

AW: Laurel, 41-20; TM: Laurel, 36-20; BH: Laurel, 38-16; GF: Laurel, 28-14.

Early College (0-3, 0-6) at Polytech (1-4, 2-5), 6 p.m.

After a couple losses in a row, Polytech would like to finally pick up its third victory of the season.

AW: Polytech, 42-8; TM: Polytech, 24-7; ; BH: Polytech, 28-12; GF: Polytech, 32-14.

Cape Henlopen (1-6) at Appoquinimink (4-3)

While they’ve played better lately, Vikings now have to try to stop Jaguars’ three-game winning streak.

Friday’s games

Smyrna (5-2) at Salesianum (5-1)

The two Class 3A programs get a chance to further establish the pecking order for the state tourney.              

AW: Smyrna, 32-21; TM: Smyrna, 34-28;  ; BH: Smyrna, 34-30; GF: Smyrna, 44-31.

William Penn (3-4) at Dover (5-3)

Dover would like to lock up a winning record against a Colonial team that’s lost three games in a row.             

AW: Dover, 24-21; TM:  Dover, 17-14; ; BH: Dover, 28-23; GF: Dover, 21-18.

St. Georges (4-3) at Sussex Central (4-3)

The winner will have a better chance of grabbing one of the top-five spots in the Class 3A tournament.      

AW: Central, 21-17;  TM: St. Georges, 28-21; ; BH: Central, 27-21               ; GF:  St. Georges., 24-20.

Milford (1-2, 3-3) at Sussex Tech (2-3, 4-4)

Whoever wins this Class 2A contest still has a solid chance of finishing with a winning record this fall.

AW: Tech, 20-17; TM: Milford, 21-17; ; BH: Milford, 26-16; GF: Tech, 17-14.

Lake Forest (1-3, 3-4) at Woodbridge (4-0, 7-0)

Spartans have to try to solve a Raiders defense that has allowed just 18 points in its last four games. 

AW: Wood, 28-7; TM: Wood, 21-7; BH: Wood, 26-13; ; GF: Wood, 28-13.

Delmar (2-1, 4-2) at Caravel (3-1, 6-1)

After three wins in a row, the Wildcats get the chance to prove that they’re a top contender in Class 2A .       

AW: Caravel, 25-21; TM: Caravel, 28-21; BH: Caravel, 28-20; GF: Caravel, 20-14.

Saturday’s games

Indian River (3-0, 3-3) at First State Military (0-5, 2-5), 11 a.m.

The Indians look for another Class 1A, District II win to stay on course for a state tournament berth.   

AW: IR, 45-12; TM: IR, 42-14; ; BH: IR, 20-13; GF: IR, 42-20.

College

Dixie State (0-7) at Delaware (3-4), 1 p.m.

After dropping three in a row, Blue Hens can’t afford another setback against the winless Trailblazers.       

AW: UD, 24-10; TM: UD, 34-17; ; BH: UD , 31-12; ; GF: UD, 17-6.

Howard (1-1, 2-5) at Delaware State (0-1, 3-4), 2 p.m.

After losing its MEAC opener a week ago, Hornets don’t want to drop another home conference game.           

AW:  Howard, 17-14; TM: DSU, 17-10; BH: DSU, 20-14; GF: DSU, 20-13.
