Here's the Delaware State News predictions for local high school and college football games for this weekend.

Dover (0-1) at Baltimore Poly (1-1), 6 p.m.

The Senators have a lot of mistakes to clean up from last week’s loss to Woodbridge.

AW: BPoly, 20-14; TM: BPoly, 22-8; CA: BPoly, 28-22; GF: BPoly, 20-14; MP: Dover, 22-6.

Appoquinimink (1-0) at Smyrna (1-0)

Appo has something to prove to the Eagles, who beat them by 64 points a year ago.

AW: Smyrna, 58-6; TM: Smyrna, 60-6; CA: Smyrna, 44-24; GF: Smyrna, 40-12; MP: Smyrna, 40-13.

Polytech (0-1) at Woodbridge (1-0)

Woodbridge has a chance to open the season with two straight Division I victories.

Interboro, Pa. (3-0) at Sussex Central (1-0)

Interboro is a tough foe for the Golden Knights, who lost by 20 in last season’s meeting.

AW: Inter, 27-20; TM: Inter, 30-22; CA: Inter, 28-7; GF: Inter, 27-20; MP: Inter, 36-13.

Cape Henlopen (1-0) at Oakdale, Md. (2-0)

This is no easy trip for Cape, which allowed 48 points vs. Oakdale in last year’s loss.

Indian River (0-1) at Sussex Tech (1-0)

IR just hopes to slow down Sussex Tech, which erupted for 61 points in its opener.

St. Elizabeth (1-0) at Laurel (0-1)

St. E’s and its star RB, Chris Cropper, looked pretty good in its season opener.

Cambridge-S. Dorchester, Md. (1-1) at Seaford (0-1)

Trying to snap losing streak still seems like a lofty goal right now for the Blue Jays.

Caesar Rodney (0-1) vs. Salesianum (1-0) at Baynard Stadium, 7:30 p.m.

After 48-point loss to Middletown, Riders are just looking to make some progress.

Lake Forest (0-1) at St. Mark’s (1-0), 7:30 p.m.

Beating St. Mark’s for a second straight year won’t be an easy task for Lake Forest.

St. Mary’s, Md. (0-2) at Delmar (1-0), 7:30 p.m.

A second win for Delmar would already give it more wins than it had all last season.

Delaware Military (1-0) at Milford (1-0), 7:30 p.m.

The Buccaneers are eager to snap a three-game losing streak against the Seahawks.

Saturday’s college games

Christopher Newport (1-0, 2-0), 6 p.m.

Following first victory, the Wolverines now want to pass their first road test.

Delaware (2-0) at Wake Forest (2-0), 6:30 p.m.

Blue Hens will have to be at their best if they hope to hang with Demon Deacons.
