Pickup overturns, Seaford man dies in crash

SEAFORD – A 45-year-old Seaford man died in a single-vehicle crash that occurred sometime early Sunday morning or late Saturday night, according to Delaware State Police.

The crash involving a Dodge Ram pickup truck along U.S. 13A near Dolby Road was reported around 7:49 a.m. Sunday, state police spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz said.

The driver, William D. Miller, was pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Bratz said.

Investigation revealed Mr. Miller failed to negotiate a sharp curve and the pickup left the roadway and entered a gravel road leading to a construction site. The pickup overturned several times and came to rest on its roof on top of a stack of unused sewer piping, Sgt. Bratz said.

The time of this collision is still being investigated and as of the time of the press release (11:19 a.m., Oct. 27) no witnesses had been located. This crash was called in after daylight and due to its location is believed to have occurred sometime early this morning or late last night, Sgt. Bratz said.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, Troop 7, Lewes at 644-5020.
