GEORGETOWN - April is Fair Housing Month and this year marks the 53rd anniversary of the landmark Fair Housing Act signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson.

Pathways to Success Inc., which serves downstate students and families in at-risk communities in a spirit of offering hope through empowerment, education and information, remains more committed than ever to rooting out discrimination in housing.

Despite the progress of the Fair Housing Act, each year HUD and its fair housing partner agencies receive thousands of complaints from individuals and families alleging that they have been the victims of housing discrimination, according to Pathways to Success Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilmour.

With that, Pathways to Success is sponsoring a virtual free “town hall” event April 29, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. To register for the “town hall,” scroll to the bottom of the home page and click “Register.”

Pathways to Success joins Sussex County, the State of Delaware and the nation in celebrating a commitment to fostering the creation of inclusive, sustainable communities where every person who calls America home has the same housing and economic opportunities, Ms. Gilmour said.
