KENT COUNTY — A 56-year-old Camden-Wyoming man was arrested in alleged connection with multiple thefts of aluminum concrete forms at job sites, Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

Investigation began in April, police said. On Wednesday night troopers were in the area of Pearsons Corner and Hazletville roads when they saw a dark-colored Chevrolet Blazer driving at a slow rate of speed while shining what appeared to be a flashlight onto the property. The vehicle turned into a construction lot where concrete forms were being stored on a trailer.

The vehicle’s driver, Mark T. Long, exited the vehicle with a flashlight in hand and began searching through the pile of concrete forms, police said.

Further investigations revealed that there was a Chevrolet pickup truck parked in the driveway of Mr. Long’s residence in the 3000 block of Mud Mill Road containing suspected stolen concrete forms, police said. The Blazer and the pickup truck were searched and evidence including scrap yard receipts were recovered, according to police. Also recovered were nine aluminum concrete forms in various lengths.

Mr. Long was taken into custody without incident. Charges included felony theft (seven counts) and third-degree criminal trespass (four counts).

Mr. Long was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court and released on his own recognizance.
