DOVER - Police in Dover and Smyrna reported nothing suspicious was found after bomb threats were called in to several schools on Friday.

The Dover Police Department said it responded to Central Middle School, Town Pointe Elementary School and Holy Cross School and searches cleared the schools of any dangers. South Dover Elementary School was also locked down due to its proximity to Holy Cross.

In Smyrna, police said staff at John Bassett Moore Intermediate School received an automated bomb threat at approximately 9:30 a.m. The call was placed directly to the school, the Smyrna Police Department said.

Students and staff were immediately evacuated. An administrative search was conducted by school administration in conjunction with Smyrna PD officers. Nothing suspicious or out of the ordinary was located and the building was deemed to be safe.

Students and staff thean returned to resume their regular daily activities, police said and there was no threat to public safety at the time.
