MIDDLETOWN — A 30-year-old Middletown man was charged with second-degree murder in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash in September, Delaware State Police spokesman Cpl. Jason Hatchell said Wednesday.
Jordan Griffith was driving a Ford F-150 pickup truck that ran a red light and struck the passenger side of a Chevy Malibu on Sept. 28. A 48-year-old woman died as a result of injuries from the crash, police said, and a 15-year-old boy was seriously injured. Mr. Griffith suffered non-life threatening injuries, authorities said.
Mr. Griffith was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree vehicular assault, third offense DUI, unreasonable speed, failure to stop at a red light, and failure to have insurance identification in possession. He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $105,300 cash bond.
