Man arrested in knife assault of woman outside Dover bar faces felony charges

  DOVER — A man accused of stabbing a woman four times outside a Dover bar last summer has been indicted on felony charges. Jaquan X. Crump was 21 years old at the time of the incident that allegedly began inside Irish Mike’s at 107 W. Loockerman St. before a stabbing outside, Dover Police said. Several people were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a stabbing, police said. The time of the incident was listed as 12:30 a.m. by authorities. Mr. Crump was not immediately located by arriving officers, police said, and he was initially considered at large and wanted. A 24-year-old woman suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover. Charges against Mr. Crump include first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony (a knife). Two indicted in Dover drug case In another case last week, Brandy Coverdale and Richard Harrigan were indicted in connection with a search warrant execution in the 100 block of South Kirkwood Street in Dover on Aug. 3.

Dover Police alleged that a drug investigation culminated with the location of 2.649 grams of heroin .3 grams of crack cocaine, .3 grams of marijuana and a .22 caliber handgun. Also participating in the raid were the Delaware State Police and Delaware Probation and Parole.

Ms. Coverdale and Mr. Harrigan were both 36 years old when arrested. Charges included drug dealing, second-degree conspiracy, three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Coverdale was also charged with possession of marijuana.
