With a great sigh of relief, I read the recent Delaware State News article “Former judge announces candidacy for attorney general” (Sept. 2).
It’s about time that an extremely qualified Republican — Chuck Welch, who comes with a solid track record of public service — has stepped forward to end the dominance of the perhaps perceptively lawless Democratic Party rule in Delaware.
I suggest that Delaware needs a housecleaning of incumbent Democratic officeholders, especially the current Democratic AG, who appears to, first and foremost, support a political party agenda, rather than faithfully execute her duties as Delaware’s chief law enforcement officer.
Republican candidate Chuck Welch’s intentions should be welcomed by Delaware voters come November 2022. Take a look at Mr. Welch’s platform promises:
For more than 10 years, now-retired Judge Chuck Welch presided over the Kent County Court of Common Pleas’ Drug Court, which he founded, and therefore, he is very much aware of the need for compassion and treatment of those afflicted with drug addiction.
Let’s all hope that the members of Delaware’s Republican Party work together with determination to elect GOP candidate Welch as the next Delaware attorney general in 2022.
