Letter to the Editor: More pay for direct-support workers is needed

I am writing concerning the increase of pay needed for direct-support professionals in Delaware.

We are at a very scary place when it comes to workers supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD), as a shortage continues due to low wages.

We must protect our nation’s vulnerable citizens. Without direct-support professionals, those citizens are at great risk. This is a must and wages have to be considered this year. We have no more time to waste. Thank you.
