This letter is addressed to all the people who haven’t gotten and don’t intend to get a vaccine.
I have heard many of you say that they were developed too fast and that the technology is too new. Then, let me give you a science lesson.
Our researchers have been working with RNA since the 1990s, when the Human Genome Project was begun. Dr. Drew Weissman of the University of Pennsylvania worked for more than 15 years to get this technology, so that it could be used for vaccines.
This is the reason these vaccines were developed so quickly and are so effective.
He has also played a large role in the development of REGEN-COV, at present the most effective treatment we have when someone contracts COVID-19.
So let me ask you a question. Would you rather have some cold-like symptoms for a couple of days or would you rather die? It seems to me that you have no concern for our children who are not yet able to get the vaccine. And you surely have no concern for your friends, neighbors or relatives, who may have compromised immune systems.
It’s time you started caring about our country and our people.
