Letter to the Editor: Letter writer misses mark about pandemic, BLM, taxes

“Everyone is entitled to his own opinion but not his own facts” — Daniel Patrick Moynihan

It’s rather obvious that Mr. Gene Vanderwende either missed the notice or picked a very bad day to see his name in print (“Reader responds to letter with a different view,” April 10). In writing about Col. Frank Daniels’ recent letter, he simply exposed the desire to push facts aside. Though Democrats are too corrupt to admit what every American knows, Joe Biden has had little to nothing to do with putting “the pandemic on the run.” Were it not for the singular efforts of Donald Trump and his direct dealings with drug manufacturers, America would still have two to three years for provisional approval of any vaccine by the Food and Drug Administration. Trump also ordered several million doses, for which Biden has now claimed responsibility. If “organization and science” had been used, we wouldn’t be forced to hang on to every word of a single doctor.

I am amazed at how gullible Mr. Vanderwende is in his assessment of Black Lives Matter. BLM is the brainchild of three Black California women, who have openly admitted being Marxist. Their intent is to destroy American capitalism and replace it with socialism. They have stated they have no interest in education but rather indoctrination, as the Marxist doctrine dictates.

Perhaps the writer should actually look at the “huge tax cut that Big Business got.” Anyone who’s ever taken a simple civics or economics class sees that statement is ludicrous. Perhaps I should remind him of former Gov. Jack Markell’s same flaw with Bloom Energy and with Chrysler. Tax cuts to big businesses were minimal compared to their capital return in the form of employment and ancillary wages.

I suppose it was a matter of bad timing for the author to mention Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and his statement on party rule. I know that fruition of those goals would place communist Democrats in a catatonic state, but the remarks come on the same day Joe Biden acted on his intention to pack the Supreme Court. He has named a task force to research the integrity of a separate branch of government. To add insult to the agenda, he suggests term limits for Supreme Court justices. Why wouldn’t the same logic apply to a politician who’s never had a real job in the last 48 years?

Finally, Mr. Vanderwende, this is not the first time you’ve clandestinely besmirched the military. It’s ironic that Democrats like to hide behind the First Amendment, while advocating the elimination of the Second. To answer your question, however, you are correct in our oath into the military. In fact, it’s strikingly similar to the oath taken by every politician in the U.S. You know the words, especially those professing to protect our republic from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Perhaps that’s why Biden and Kamala Harris are reluctant to visit our southern border.
