Never mind that Trump can’t even spell “counsel.” He said that the White House lawyer is not “a John Dean type rat.” John Dean was an American hero, a lawyer with enormous courage, who came forward to tell the truth in defiance of the most powerful people in government: Nixon, Haldeman, Erlichman and Attorney General John Mitchell, all of whom went to prison (Nixon would have if he had not been pardoned). I watched every minute of the Watergate hearings in the summer of 1973. Once again, we see Trump’s true intent: to conceal criminal conduct and to hide the truth. This is clear from his characterization of Dean as a “rat”! John Dean was a hero whistle blower, not a rat. And any Trump follower who says otherwise probably never even heard of John Dean until their leader said his name. You can watch the Watergate hearings, and see what a real investigation looks like.
