DOVER — Republican presidential candidate and Ohio Gov. John Kasich said Wednesday his Delaware campaign team will be chaired in part by one of the state’s former congressmen.
Former U.S. Rep. Tom Evans, former White House spokesman Frank Ursomarso and Delaware businessman Michael Fleming will lead Gov. Kasich’s Delaware efforts.
Mr. Evans represented Delaware in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1977 to 1983.
Mr. Ursomarso was the director of communications for President Ronald Reagan and now lives in Wilmington.
Mr. Fleming, a Wilmington business executive, was an aide to former Delaware Sen. Bill Roth.
“John Kasich has all the qualities and vision we need in the White House and unmatched experience in actually getting great things done for the American people,” Mr. Evans said in a statement. “I worked closely with President Reagan and John has the same capacity to unite our party and compete in every state in November.”
Other members of Gov. Kasich’s leadership team include Rep. Deborah Hudson, R-Hockessin, ex-state Rep. Tim Boulden and former Delaware GOP Executive Director John Fluharty.
Delaware’s presidential primary is April 26.
