DOVER — Dover Police Department on Friday filed charges against former Dover Little League president William Berry of Hartly in connection with the alleged theft of money from the league.
Mr. Berry turned himself in to police Friday accompanied by a lawyer.
During the investigation police discovered that Mr. Berry allegedly took money from the organization and its various fundraisers, and used the league’s credit card for unauthorized personal purchases totaling more than $4,000 over a period of time, police said.
Mr. Berry was released on $7,000 unsecured bond after being charged with theft over $1,500; theft by false pretense over $1,500; unlawful use of payment card over $1,500; forgery third degree.
