DOVER — A 19-year-old Dover man was charged with aggravated menacing and issued a no contact order following an alleged incident in the Carlisle Village neighborhood early Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

A 29-year-old man told Delaware State Police that Daevon C. Stratton allegedly arrived at the unit block of Carlisle Drive at approximately 12:02 p.m. and then honked his horn outside a residence for roughly 30 minutes. The man said he and his 27-year-old girlfriend who lived next door went outside and asked Mr. Stratton to stop, spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

According to the man, Mr. Stratton then allegedly displayed what looked like a black assault rifle, pointed it at the couple and threatened them, police said. He left the scene before troopers arrived, the man claimed.

No injuries were reported.

A short time later, police said, Mr. Stratton was taken into custody without incident outside his home in Kentwood Mobile Home Park. He was allegedly found in possession of 9.68 grams of marijuana, police said.

Police said no firearm was located.

Charges included aggravated menacing (two counts) and possession of marijuana. Following arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court, Mr. Stratton was released on $10,100 unsecured bond and issued a no contact order with the man and his girlfriend, according to authorities.
