DOVER — A 43-year-old Dover man out on bond regarding a recent alleged attempted burglary is now sought on a second-degree rape charge, the Dover Police Department said Monday.

According to authorities, David Perrera, of the unit block of Forrest Creek Drive, also is facing a terroristic threatening charge after an alleged incident that happened at about 11 p.m. June 2. The alleged incident was reported Friday, spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Dover Police alleged that an unidentified 42-year-old woman was raped.

Anyone with information on Mr. Perrera’s whereabouts can call Dover Police at 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous, authorities said.

Police reported last week that Mr. Perrera was arrested May 31 during an alleged attempted burglary in progress at Redner’s Warehouse Market at 25 Greentree Drive.

In that alleged incident at approximately 12:55 a.m., police said patrol officers were in the Greentree Shopping Center parking lot when they saw a person wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt walk up to the front door of the business.

A loud popping sound was heard, followed by that of breaking glass, police said.

Police said a person allegedly moved to the parking lot and while carrying a hammer and work gloves was taken into custody by officers.

Mr. Perrera was arrested and later released on $3,250 unsecured bond, police said.

Charges included wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, possession of burglary tools, third-degree attempted burglary, tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest and criminal mischief under $1,000.

• On Monday, the Dover Police announced the arrest of a 30-year-old Dover man on sex-related charges after an alleged incident “prior to June 6” according to authorities.

Lamar Trower, of the unit block of Stevenson Drive, was charged with fourth-degree rape and unlawful sexual conduct against a child by a sex offender contact.

Police said they learned Mr. Trower allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old female.

Mr. Trower was arrested without incident, police said, and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in default of $80,000 secured bond.
