On Saturday, Delaware’s Division of Public Health reported 458 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths attributable to the virus.

Although it didn’t announce any new deaths Saturday, the state did give more information about six recent deaths attributed to COVID-19. The deceased, who all had underlying health conditions, were aged 65 to 91. Only one was a resident of a long-term care facility.

The total number of people hospitalized with the virus in the state went down on Saturday, from 145 to 143, but there were still 27 new hospital admissions due to the virus.

Testing has remained an important part of Delaware’s response to the virus. So far, the state has administered 1,657,233 tests to 681,864 people. Of those, 581,087 tested people tested negative.

The state is also continuing its vaccination campaign. So far, 222,403 Delawareans have been fully vaccinated while 361,934 have been partially vaccinated. The state has 143,591 doses on hand.
