DOVER — Barring any new leads arriving the death of a 40-year-old North Carolina woman whose skeletal remains were found near the Firefly Music Festival grounds last year will remain a mystery.

While investigators identified Linda C. Moore, whose last known address was in Charlotte, through dental records after the discovery on June 15, 2017, the cause and manner of death was ruled “undetermined” by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science.

“If any more information on the case was received we would reopen it and continue to investigate,” Delaware State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Melissa Jaffe said Tuesday.

Authorities said there was no indication that Ms. Moore’s death was suspicious or resulted from foul play.

A Firefly attendee found the remains at approximately 7 p.m. while walking through the wooded area east of Leipsic Road near Marley Lane.

Police were notified and collected and analyzed evidence from the scene.

Police said Ms. Moore’s ties to the area were unknown and her family had been notified of her death.
