DOVER — The 11th annual Capital Classic middle school basketball tournament gets underway Friday with boys’ and girls’ squads from throughout the state taking part.
The event is expanding from 24 to 32 squads this year with games being played at six sites over seven days.
Friday’s opening game features Dover’s Central Middle School boys hosting Caesar Rodney’s Fifer Middle School at 4 p.m.
The tourney continues on Monday with four contests at the Conrad School of Sciences in New Castle County.
Games are slated for each day next week, culminating in two days of contests at Woodbridge High School on Feb. 13-14.
