Cape Henlopen and Delmar High were both named the top seeds as the fields for the DIAA Division I and II field hockey tournaments were announced on Friday.

A total of seven Henlopen Conference teams made the two brackets - four in Division I and three in Division II. With all four downstate squads on the same side of the Division I bracket, the Henlopen Conference is guaranteed having a team in the state finals.

The Division I quarterfinals are slated for Thursday, with contests at home sites. In games involving downstate teams, top-seeded Cape (14-1) will host No. 8 Smyrna (9-5-1) at 4 p.m. with No. 4 Polytech (12-3) hosting No. 5 Sussex Tech (11-3-1) at 2:30 p.m.

With a 12-team field, the top four teams in Division II receive first-round byes. That group includes No. 1 Delmar (15-0) and No. 4 Lake Forest (11-3-1).

The only downstate squad playing in Tuesday's first round is No. 10 Indian River (9-5-1) which goes to No. 7 Wilmington Friends (11-3-1) for a 2:30 p.m. matchup.

In Saturday's quarterfinals, Delmar will host the winner of the Red Lion Christian/Archmere game at 1 p.m. while Lake Forest will host the winner of the Ursuline-Newark Charter contest at 1 p.m.
