FELTON — Six people were arrested after investigation into several alleged residential burglaries where firearms and body armor were stolen, police said Friday.

A probe of burglaries in the Camden-Wyoming and Felton areas brought the arrests of Bryan Cordrey, 26, and his mother Donna Cordrey, 49, the Delaware State Police said, which led to four more arrests regarding stolen firearms.

Mr. Cordrey was charged with second-degree burglary (12 counts), second-degree attempted burglary dwelling, third-degree burglary (three counts), possession of burglar tools, theft of firearm (two counts), theft (17 counts), selling stolen property valued over $1,500 (2 counts), falsifying business records (four counts), theft by false pretense (three counts), selling stolen property (two counts), conspiracy (two counts) and criminal mischief (five counts),

Police said pending arrests include resisting arrest and possession of a deadly weapon by person prohibited and more burglary charges.

Police released a booking photo of Mr. Cordrey indicating apparent bruises and cuts on his face.

“During the course of the arrest, Cordrey resisted and sustained injuries while being taken into custody,” state police spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz said.

As to how Mr. Cordrey was developed as a suspect, police responded with:

“Through follow up investigations and other investigative measures, including multiple interviews, detectives were able to identify him as a suspect,” Sgt. Bratz said.

“(Also a) traffic stop where his vehicle matched the suspect vehicle at an attempted burglary scene.”

While state police said all cases are a priority, ones involving weapons issues are especially significant.

“The Delaware State Police consider all cases to be important,” Sgt. Bratz said.

“However, any time there is a case involving a weapon, we want to attempt to solve that case as quickly as possible in an attempt to keep the weapons off of the street and out of the hands of the wrong people.”

Mr. Cordrey was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 7 in Dover and sent to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna in lieu of $72,100 secured bail.

Ms. Cordrey was charged with two counts each of selling stolen property, conspiracy, falisying business records and theft by false pretense. She was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on $8,000 unsecured bail.

The state police Criminal Investigation Unit, assisted by the Special Operations Response Team and Evidence Detection Unit, investigated the alleged burglaries.

Police said a search warrant was executed Wednesday in the unit block of Beagle Club Road in Felton and alleged stolen items from multiple burglaries were located. The Cordreys were taken into custody, police said.

As the investigation continued, four more search warrants were obtained for Kent County residences at 22 Lingo Drive in Dover, 401 Lambert Drive in Magnolia, 9A Nascar Lane in Magnolia and 753 Mulberrie Point Road in Frederica.

More arrests followed, including:

• Dontwais A. Tanner, 25, of the first block of Lindo Drive in Dover, charged with manufacture, deliver or possesses with intent to deliver, possesses a controlled substance in a Tier 5 quantity, possession of heroin (9 grams) and drug dealing. He was committed to Vaughn center in lieu of $40,250 secured bail.

• James V. Wooten, 25, of Dover, charged with possession of heroin (.195 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Wooten was released on $750 unsecured bail.

• Magnolia juvenile female, 17, charged with two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled or counterfeit substance, second-degree conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of MDMA (19 grams), possession of heroin (.18 grams) and drug dealing/ possession with intent to distribute. She was released on $2,800 unsecured bail, police said.

• Stephen Wheeler, 21 of Frederica, charged with possession, purchase, own or control of a firearm or ammunition by person prohibited and possession of marijuana (4 grams). He was sent to Vaughn center on a $5,1000 secured bail.
