DOVER –– By a unanimous vote, Capital School Board chose to go with Superior Electric Company to complete the remaining electrical work for technology at Wednesday’s board meeting.
The budget for the project was $235,000 and the cost estimate submitted from Superior was $230,000.
Making accommodations for new technology is one of the last steps in bringing Booker T.’s renovation project to a close. The work is expected to be completed on Dec. 18.
Other finishing touches are currently underway like painting drywall, installing bathroom tile and ceiling tiles.
The renovated area will be used by Kent County Community School (a county-wide program for students with learning disabilities) and the Delaware Autism Program (DAP).
Teachers are scheduled to move in and set up their classrooms on Jan. 4. Jan. 4 is the first day back to school for Capital School District after winter break but KCCS and DAP students will resume classes on Jan. 5.
