Winnie E. Morris, 93

WORTON, Md. - Winnie E. Morris, 93 of Worton, died Sept. 25, 2009, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. Mrs. Morris was born on June 14, 1916, the last of 12 children to survive the late George A. and Sarah Turner Hurtt. She was raised on a farm near Church Hill, and was a graduated of Church Hill School. After her marriage in 1938 she and her husband moved to Chestertown and in 1949 they purchased a farm in Still Pond Neck where she raised her sons. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge in Still Pond. Along with her parents and 12 siblings, she was preceded by her husband of 49 years, Samuel Clyde Morris in 1987. Mrs. Morris is survived by her sons, Samuel Clyde 'Pat' Morris of Worton, and George Morris and his wife Debbie of Still Pond; five grandchildren, Tim Morris, Ed Morris, Tommy Ewing, Brandy Wright, and Ashley Cherrix; and seven great-grandchildren, Rachel Morris, Trisha Morris, Brandon Ewing, Kelson Wright, Ryley Wright, Gavin Wright, and Austin Cherrix. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery, Crumpton.
