William S. 'Bill' Miller, 77 DOVER - William S. "Bill" Miller, of Dover, passed away at home Wednesday May 12, 2010. He was 77. Mr. Miller was born Oct. 4, 1932, in Kansas City, Kansas the son of the late Samuel S. and Elizabeth "Betsy" Fry Miller. He was a self-employed truck driver for most of his life before retirement. Mr. Miller served in the United States Army. Mr. Miller enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was known as a great story teller and for tinkering with anything he could take apart and put back together. Mr. Miller enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling in his motorhome and spending his winters at his home in Naples, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Durham in 1992. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Pritchett Miller; three children, Judy L. Sherwood of Dover, E. Diane Davis and her husband, Dave of Hartly, and William S. Miller, Jr.and his wife, Alice of Smyrna; his brothers, Robert, Samuel, Floyd, Raymond and Johnnie Miller; his sisters, Sadie Miller, Clara Thibodeau and Esther Miller; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday May 18, 2010, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care of Delaware, 220 Continental Drive Suite 101 Newark, DE 19713.
