CAMDEN - William R. Wich's journey on this earth ended on Tuesday March 17, 2009, in Bayhealth Medical Center. He was from Camden. His age was 58. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of Ferdinand J. Wich, of Camden, and the late Ann Gahan Wich. Mr. Wich attended Holy Cross High School and was the President of his graduating class at Dover High School. He attended Delaware State University and worked as a Transportation Specialist/Agent for most of his life. He was an avid fisherman and a boating enthusiast. He loved music, and was in bands most of his life. He most recently was a member of 'The Draw' where he played drums, guitar, and performed as a vocalist. In his quieter moments he enjoyed taking long walks in his woods, and will be remembered as a person who easily made friends. He was an amazing father, husband, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Besides his father he is survived by his former wife and long time best friend, Judith Ann Wich of Camden; three children, Elizabeth A. Thompson of Felton, Laura L. Bortz of Felton, and William J. Wich of Camden; brother, John J.F. Wich of Camden; five grandchildren, Devon M. Braune of Camden, Hailey C. Wich of Camden, Jocelyn A. Wich of Camden, Nicholas W. Thompson of Felton, and Alyssa L. Bortz of Felton. Friends may call Monday starting at noon at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday at 1:30 p.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, S. State St., Dover. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Reel Expectations, 173 Meadow Ridge Parkway, Dover, DE 19904.
