William J. Nebe, 66

WILMINGTON - William J. Nebe of Wilmington passed away in Fenwick Island on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007. He was 66.

He was born in Cleveland, son of Jeannette Trevarthen Nebe and the late James H. Nebe.

Mr. Nebe earned his bachelor's in chemistry at Case Institute of Technology in 1963, he then earned his Ph.D. in chemistry at Case Western Reserve University in 1969.

He did a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Texas with Albert Noyes and Gerhard Fonken.

Mr. Hearn retired from the DuPont Co. in Wilmington in 1999 and DSM Desotech in 2002.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Wilmington and an associate member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Ocean City, Md.

In addition to his father, James, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Robert Nebe and Howard Nebe.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dale E. Nebe; three daughters, Catherine Whaley and her husband David, E. Carol Nebe, Christine Andretta and her husband Joe; two grandchildren, Ella Andretta and Joey Andretta; a brother, James E. Nebe and his wife Donna; sisters-in-law, Barbara Nebe, Janice Nebe, Loretta Nebe; several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the deceased, services will be private.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to, St. Clare Medical Outreach, c/o St. Francis Foundation, Seventh and Clayton streets, Wilmington, DE 19805; or Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
