William Henry FELTON - William Henry, of Felton died Monday, June 7, 2010 in Courtland Manor Nursing Home, Dover. He was 80. He was born May 23, 1930 in Westmoreland, City, Pennsylvania to the late Harry M. Henry and Alice Richter Henry. Mr. Henry lived his childhood in Irwin, Pa and graduated from Irwin High School in 1948. He enlisted in the USAF in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1955 from Dover Air Force Base. After his discharge he operated Bill's City Service in Camden, DE for many years. He then sold life insurance for Equitable Life Insurance Company until his retirement. After retiring he delivered flowers for Jen Mor Florist. Mr. Henry was an avid horseman and animal lover. In his teens and 20's he raised and rode pleasure horses and then later in his life he owned, trained and drove standard breds as a hobby racing at Harrington and Ocean Downs. He was a lover of music and played piano and the accordion. Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his father, 1934, his mother, 1965, sister, Margaret 1997, brother, Harold 2003 and his sister, Helen 2004. He is survived by his loving sister; Betty Holderbaum of Dover who was his primary care giver for many years before entering Courtland Manor; his nephews, Rodney Holderbaum of Dover, Randy Holderbaum of Ocean View, Rex Holderbaum of Willow Grove and niece Rita Smith of Magnolia and numerous nieces and nephews in western PA. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday June 12, 2010 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, De 19934. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
