William D. Tracy Sr.

DOVER - William D. Tracy, Sr. passed away peacefully in his recliner at home on Sun., Dec. 20, 2015. Bill was born May 10, 1939 in Iaeger, W.V., the son of the late Harry and Hattie Tracy. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force. He retired after many years as a Chemical Operator for Occidental Chemicals of Delaware City. Bill enjoyed rabbit hunting, bird watching and cutting grass. Part of his daily routine was going to the YMCA for his morning coffee, workout and time with friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mavin; two sisters, Alice and Doris; and two brothers, Harold and Milton. He is survived by his daughter, Kim S. Shetzler and her husband Covey of Kenton; his two sons, Alan T. Tracy and his wife Lynn of Kenton and William D. Tracy, Jr. and his wife Cheri of Elkton, MD; six grandchildren, Cody, Amber, Evan, Aaron, Sarah, and Logan; a great-granddaughter, Kyliee; a dear family friend, Joyce Sprinkle; and his beloved dogs, Holly and Rose. Bill lived everyday to the fullest with a smile on his face and family and friends by his side. He will be deeply missed. Graveside services will be held on Mon., Dec. 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. in Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com
