Clayton - William D. Thomas, DE passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Heartland Hospice House in Wilmington, DE. He was born Oct. 10, 1938 in Lewes, DE, the son of the late Reynolds and Madeline Thomas. Mr. Thomas moved from New Castle to the Blackiston area over 40 years ago. He retired from working as an Iron Worker for Local 451 of Elsmere, DE many years ago. Mr. Thomas loved hunting, fishing, crabbing and working on his antique automobiles. He was known as "Williebird." In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond L. Thomas; and his sister, Elinor Forestier. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Thomas; one son, Robert Thomas of Rehoboth Beach, DE; one step-son, Bobby Harmon, Jr. of Blackiston; one step-daughter, Jenny Ivory of Smyrna; one brother, Richard Thomas of Leander, TX; 5 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
