SMYRNA, Del. - Wayne E. Curry passed away peacefully February 28, 2022, surrounded by his family.
Wayne was born in Rockingham County, Va., he was the son of the late Alfred and Myrl Curry. He was preceded in death by his four brothers, infant Harold Curry, Donald Curry, J. L. "Jr" Curry and Norlyn Curry; and three sisters, infant Norma Curry, Judy Curry, and Helen Minnick.
Wayne worked hard his entire life. He worked for James Julian Inc. as a crane operator for many years and finished his career with Daisy Construction. He was also a carpenter by trade. Through out his life, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Wayne was a lifetime member of the Hartly United Methodist Church. He was an avid hunter and lifetime member of the Greenbrier Hunting Club.
Wayne could also be found working outside and tending to his garden in which he was so proud of. When he wasn't in his garden, he was tending to his bee hives and making his famous local honey.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Alberta; daughters, Debby (Tom) and Melinda; three grandchildren, Tommy, Holly (Amber) and Misty (Tommy); and four great grandchildren, Nariah, TJ, Kyliee and Bentley; one surviving brother, Larry Curry.
He will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Traders Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE 19901. Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the American Cancer Society.
