Violet Erna Porter

GREENSBORO, MD. - Violet Erna Porter passed away on Fri., July 19, 2013 at Seasons Hospice of Randallstown. Violet was a first generation American born to the late Erna Casper, an immigrant of Germany and Fred Casper, Sr. of Polish descent. She attended high school in Felton, Del. where she worked at the dress factory. She had been a housekeeping supervisor at Caroline Nursing Home of Denton. After her retirement she volunteered her time at the Samaritan House Thrift Store, Denton. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four sisters, Gloria, Ruth, Dorothy and Grace. Ms. Porter is survived by three children, James Porter, Jr. of Goldsboro, Melissa Clifford of Louisiana and Dan Porter of Seaford, Del.; a brother, Fred Casper and wife Virginia of Del.; seven grandchildren, James Porter, III, Lora Christopher, Lisa Nickerson, Crystal Porter, Austin Clifford, Camille Clifford and Cross Porter; six great-grandchildren, Amber Christopher, Kyle Christopher, Jason Cory Nickerson, Jr., Jonna Nickerson, Jevan Nickerson and Dylan Greenwell. The funeral service for Ms. Porter will be Tues., July 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro. Burial will follow in the Greensboro Cemetery.
