LINCOLN - Vincent L. Morris, of Lincoln, departed this life suddenly on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, in Anne Arundel County Medical Center in Annapolis, Md. He was 45.
He was born June 8, 1962, in Lewes, to the late Willie Morris and Georgia Wynder.
Mr. Morris attended school in the Milford School District and graduated in 1980. After graduation, he moved to various states and worked as manager in numerous restaurants.
He was currently a manager at Dickey's Barbecue Pit, Dover.
Mr. Morris loved sports, music, traveling and going to church.
He attended Siloam AME Church under the leadership of the Rev. Harry O. Coxen Sr. where he sang on the youth choir and was a member of the junior usher board and Y.P.D. at Siloam AME Church.
Mr. Morris also accepted Christ into his life under the Rev. Bruce Points.
Vincent was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Morris.
He leaves to cherish his memories six children, Rhashawna Johnson, Tyneshia Morris, Manketta Morris, Clarissa Morris, Salfrado Butler and Vincent Morris Jr.; seven grandchildren; his father and mother, Vernon Sr. and Georgia Shockley; two brothers, Vernon Shockley Jr. and Miles Shockley; three sisters, April Brown, Willette Morris and Lisa Wilgeon; one sister-in-law, Tiasha Shockley; one grandmother, Sarah A. Shockley; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. today in Siloam AME Church, Lincoln, where friends may view two hours prior.
Burial will be at Siloam AME Church Cemetery, Lincoln.
