FREDERICA - Val A. Perri, of Frederica, died Friday, March 16, 2007, in his home. He was 79.

Mr. Perri was born in Vineland, N.J., son of the late Angelo and Louise (Lera) Perri.

He graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Vineland, in 1944, and was a World War II veteran. He later attended Rutgers University in New Jersey, where he studied entomology.

Mr. Perri worked at Seabrook (N.J.) Farms, and later worked with Agway in Bridgeton, N.J., for many years. He was also associated with Bruce Church Farms in California, and in 1986 moved to Delaware and worked for Charles H. West Farms in Milford.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover.

Mr. Perri was also a member of the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post 2 of Dover, a past active member of the American Entomology Society and a charter member of the National World War II Memorial Foundation.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dolores (Genetti) Perri of Frederica; a son and a daughter-in-law, Steven and Tish Perri of Kingsport, Tenn.; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Jeanne and Bernie Gregori of Langhorne, Pa., and Valerie and Arnie Pelletier of Elloree, S.C.; a sister, Alice Brignolo of Vineland; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Clark of Philadelphia and Trevor Gregori of Langhorne.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover.

Mass of Christian burial will be 8 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, S. State St., Dover.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland.

The family suggests donations in his memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
