DOVER - Ursula M. Thomas died Friday 29 June 2018, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. Mrs. Thomas was born Sept. 2, 1930 in Kassel, Germany, daughter of the late Wilhelm and Emma (Lange) Schmidt.
She was a lifetime member of Modern Maturity Center and American Legion Auxiliary. She worked at W.T. Grants and Card-O-Rama in Rodney Village Shopping Center. She volunteered at the gift shop in the Modern Maturity Center for many years and with Delaware Hospice for more than 20 years.
In addition she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Thomas; son, Robert F. Thomas Jr.; her friend and companion, Allen E. Hall; and four brothers, Horst, Willie, Alex, and Kurt.
She is survived by two daughters, Ursula Thomas and Sharonlee Pinkley of Camden; two grandsons, Larry Thomas, his wife Erin of Magnolia and Robert Pinkley, his wife Hannah of Stephens City, Va.; five beautiful great-granddaughters that meant the world to her, Raegan, Lacee, Emery, and Maryn Thomas of Magnolia and Camey Pinkley of Stephens City, Va.; brother, Werner Schmidt, his wife Hannelore; and three sister-in-laws, Elsa Schmidt, Karin Schmidt, and Edith Schmidt of Kassel, Germany; brother-in-laws, Ron Thomas, his wife Connie of Gold Canyon, Ariz. and Bill McGee Jr., his wife Shelley of Merced, California; also many nieces and nephews.
Viewing services will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Trader Funeral Home where friends may call.
Burial will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover following service at Trader Funeral Home at 11 am Friday, July 6, 2018.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be given to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.
