TSgt Brian Robert Pierce, USAF, Retired, 58
MILFORD – TSgt Brian Robert Pierce, USAF, Retired, passed away on April 23, 2021 at Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Brian was born in Milford, Delaware son of the late Clifford "Cliff" and Dorothy "Dot" (Roberts) Pierce. Brian was a lifelong resident of Milford. At the age of ten he began farming alongside Donald Mills. He graduated from Milford High School Class of 1981. Shortly after graduation, Brian enlisted in the USAF and began his military career. After retiring from the USAF, Brian began driving a school bus for RJK Transportation for Milford High School; a job he couldn't get enough of. He loved his bus route and the children he carried safely for eight years, so much so, that he drove his route until two days before his illness required his most recent hospital stay.
Brian retired as a TSgt from the U.S. Air Force due to disability with 20 years' service with the 341st Medical Support Team. Brian served our country overseas and had three tours of duty serving in Saudi Arabia and South Korea where he worked in IT for medical support.
Brian was not a selfish man and he loved pouring himself into helping others. He dearly loved his time spent with his dad, Cliff, teaching his twin daughters how to crab and clam the local waters. When not outdoors, Brian enjoyed home remodeling projects and woodworking. His last house remodeling project was spent teaching his daughter Cecelia the how-to parts of the job. He was the consummate "girl dad".
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Caroline; twin daughters, Cecilia Marie and Sophia Ann; cousins, Sharon and Joe McNesby of Newark; and a host of extended family and friends.
Caroline, Cecilia and Sophia, would like to extend a special thank you to their neighbors, (especially Bill and Phyllis Fisher and Ted Salazar), and the entire RJK Transportation family for their kindness and never failing support that has been given to the family during Brian's illness.
The family has suggested memorial contributions in Brian's memory be made to: Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Road, Milford, DE 19963.
There will be no formal service scheduled at this time.
