SMYRNA, Del. - Tommy Lipscomb passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware.
Tommy was born on September 5, 1932, in Newberry, South Carolina, the son of the late Howard and Mabel Lipscomb. Tommy served in the Air Force and was employed as an atomic electrician and helped build the nuclear plants on the Mid-Atlantic corridor. He was a member of the IBEW Local 102.
Tommy was a great husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents; Tommy was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine Lipscomb; and infant son, William Tommy; his grandson, Dylan Jones; his brothers, Broadus, Eugene, and Howard Lipscomb; and his sister, Mary Carroll Halfacre.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Zoila Lipscomb; his sister, Juanita Beltz; his daughters, Patricia Keen (Jack), Kimberly Startt, and Carol Jones (Kevin); step-sons, Richard Grasso (Judy) and Marcelo Grasso (Ruth Ann); grandson, Derek Jones (Lori); and great-granddaughters, Bliss and Ella Jones.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., where a memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, Del. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.
