CHESWOLD - Thomas Say of Cheswold went to be with his Lord Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover.

Mr. Say was born Nov. 11, in South Bend, Ind., son of the late Donald and Lela Scott.

He enjoyed watching football and NASCAR, but his love was the U.S. Marine Corps, and he served his country proudly before being wounded and sent home with an honorable discharge after serving eight years.

He worked with Diamond Shamrock and Spence Security in Delaware City. He served on the Milford and Middletown police force for several years.

Mr. Say was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Steltzer of Ashville, N.C.; and John Say of West Palm Beach, Fla.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Say of Cheswold; three daughters, Lela Ann Garrett of Townsend, Peggy Lee Coleman of Marydel and Mary Lynn Patrick of Milford; a son, Thomas Say of Milford; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Burial with military honors will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 407, Camden, DE 19934-0407.
