Thomas Lee 'Tommy Lee' Latham, 23

DELMAR, Md. - Thomas Lee "Tommy Lee" Latham of Delmar died Sunday, March 11, 2007, in Iraq. He was 23.

He was born in Prince Georges County, the son of Thomas James and Barbara Ellen Collins Latham.

He married Rachel Leanne Guy-Latham April 16, 2005, at Salisbury.

Tommy Lee was a 2002 graduate of Wicomico High School.

He joined the U.S. Army in May 2002 and had recently been promoted to the rank of sergeant.

He had served in Afghanistan and was currently in Iraq with company C of the 10th Mountain Division Brigade Combat Team.

He attended Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, where he had been involved with the youth group.

He loved hunting, fishing, just being outdoors and spending time with his wife and children. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a daughter, Ariel Marie Guy-Latham; a son, Caleb Thomas Guy-Latham, both of Delmar; two sisters and their husbands, Jill and Chris Ayers of Mechanicsville and Brittney and Travis Shipman of Clyde, N.C.; father and mother-in-law, Bernie and Flo Guy of Delmar; brother-in-laws, Matthew Schwab of Orlando, Fla., and Justin Guy and his wife, Melissa of Salisbury; sister-in-law, Sarah Guy of Delmar; grandparents, Bud and Barbara Collins of Princess Anne; and Bernie and Donna Guy Sr. of Salisbury.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in Emmanuel Wesleyan Church, 217 Beaglin Park Drive, Salisbury.

The Rev. Thomas C. Bunting, assisted by the Rev. Robert Gregory, will officiate.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church.

Interment will follow the service in Eastern Shore of Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock at 2:30 p.m.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to the Caleb Thomas Guy-Latham/ Ariel Marie Guy-Latham Scholarship Fund, c/o The Bank of Delmarva, 2727 N. Salisbury Blvd., Salisbury, MD 21804.

Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury.
