FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Theresa E. Moore, of Federalsburg, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, at Ruxton Health Care of Denton. She was 89.
Born in Laurel, Del., on July 28, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Grandville and Fannie (Hill) Ellis.
Mrs. Moore was a graduate of Laurel High School and worked for E.I. Dupont before becoming a homemaker in 1940.
She enjoyed walking on the beach and the overall atmosphere of being at the beach.
Mrs. Moore was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Hurlock.
She was a former member of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5246 Ladies Auxiliary in Federalsburg.
Mrs. Moore was also a member of the Federalsburg Senior Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen and her husband Louis Hamilton of Greenwood, Del.; two brothers, Grandville and Howard Ellis, both of Laurel; a sister, Doris Krouse of Newark, Del.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Moore, who passed away June 20, 1988; and a daughter, Janet Coulbourne, who passed away in 1986.
A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Williamson Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Federalsburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the funeral home.
Interment will take place at Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.
