Sylvia R. Davis, 89

GREENWOOD - Sylvia R. Davis passed away peacefully May 14, 2007, with her family by her side at Country Rest Home, Greenwood. She was 89.

Mrs. Davis was born March 8, 1918, in Philadelphia.

She was a warm and caring person who in her earlier years loved to cook and sew.

Mrs. Davis loved to go to the slots and made many of her own outfits.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Michael Mastromatteo in 1957; her second husband, George Davis in 1984; a son, Frank Mastromatteo in 1968; and a brother, Mario Ressa in 2006.

She is survived by her children, Michele Carrow and her husband, Charles of Smyrna, Melissa Brown and her husband, Michael of Toms River, N.J., Linda Monigle and her husband, Dan of Wilmington and Richard C. Davis of Avondale, Pa.; a sister, Rose Kelly of Upper Darby, Pa.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
