SMYRNA - Stephen Lee Spencer of Smyrna passed away at the home of his father, Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007. He was 22.
Stephen was born Aug. 5, 1985, in Dover, the son of James I. Spencer of Dover, and Bonnie Christensen Spencer of Smyrna.
Stephen worked for Delmarva Cleaning and Maintenance at Dover Downs.
He was an avid baseball player and fan and enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, cars and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Virgil Spencer.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Derek J. Spencer of Newark; his maternal grandmother, Doris (Poore) Moore; his maternal grandfather, William Christensen and his wife, Carla May; and his paternal step- grandmother, Garnet Spencer of Hartly.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware, 240 E. Commerce St., Smyrna, DE 19977; or to the Smyrna-Clayton Little League, P.O. Box 114 Clayton, DE 19938.
