Stella V. Hamadock

DOVER - Stella V. Hamadock, 85, of Dover, died March 5, 2012. Born in Belle Vernon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Erminia (Fuoco) Venneri, and the wife of retired M/Sgt. Joseph F. Hamadock. Mrs. Hamadock moved from Belle Vernon to Dover in 1962 and was employed by the US Civil Service as a Budget Analyst with the Communications Squadron at Dover Air Force Base. She was an active member of Holy Cross Parish, enjoyed participating in the University of Delaware's Academy of Life Long Learning and volunteered with the Adult Literacy Program at the Dover Modern Maturity Center. Reading was her passion. She also enjoyed cryptic byword puzzles, cross stitching, playing slot machines and Sunday afternoon bingo at the Elks Lodge. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Samuel C. Venneri; and two sisters, Virginia (Doed) Halgas and Joan Turk. Mrs. Hamadock is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Hamadock of Clarksville, Md., and Mary Jo H. Timmons and her husband Stephen H. Timmons of Dagsboro; her brother, Valentino Venneri and wife Helen of Belle Vernon, Pa.; sister Josephine Mannarino and husband John of Bristol, Pa.; brother-in-law, Rudy Halgas of Belle Vernon, Pa.; along with eight nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St. Dover, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. Family suggests donations in her memory be made to the Good Samaritan's Food Pantry at Holy Cross Church or to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934.
