DOVER - Stanley W. Sheppard passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2022.
He was born July 26, 1948, son of Homer and Vermie Sheppard, of Wyoming, Delaware. He graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, Class of 1966. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Upon returning home, he worked for the State of Delaware Highway Department as a surveyor's assistant. A few years later he took an opportunity working for the Hoover Company. In his 20-year career with them he held various sales and sales management roles, and made professional friends on Delmarva, as well as the greater Baltimore and Philadelphia regions. Later in life he worked for Catalog Resources, Inc. in Dover, working his way up to call center manager, where he was loved and admired by many of his staff. In his final career move he managed the violations department for Delaware EZ Pass.
Early in life, Stan was a member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church. He later switched to the Presbyterian Church of Dover and served on the Board of Deacons. He always had a firm faith in God and Jesus. He was very patriotic and had a great love of our country. One of his favorite traditions was going to the Dover fireworks display every 4th of July.
He was predeceased by his father, Homer Sheppard; his mother, Vermie Sheppard; and his brother, Jeffery Sheppard.
Stan is survived by his son, Brian and his wife Lachecha of Lincoln, Delaware; as well as his sister, Linda Skinner, of Lincoln, DE; and sister-in-law, Patricia Sheppard of Harrington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends throughout the country.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapels, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt. 10), Dover, DE. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will be held the following morning, 10 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2022, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to St .Stephen's Episcopal Church, 190 Raugley Hill Road, Harrington, DE 19952.
