DENTON, Md. - Stanley Eugene Reedy, 78, passed away at Homestead Manor Assisted Living in Denton, on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, where he had resided since May. Many thanks to the staff and caregivers and his friends at Homestead Manor. He previously lived at Greensboro Heights of Greensboro. He was born on Oct. 16, 1932, in Laurel, Md., to the late Wilber Murl and Bertha Mae Evis Reedy. Mr. Reedy passed away at Homestead Manor Assisted Living in Denton, MD on Monday, November 15, 2010 where he had resided since May. Many thanks to the staff and caregivers and his friends at Homestead Manor. He previously lived at Greensboro Heights of Greensboro. He was a US Army Veteran serving two years in the Infantry as Corporal. He had been a carpenter, a police officer in Florida, and a security guard at the Library of Congress among other occupations. He enjoyed fishing, wildlife, horses, Native American memorabilia, and horticulture He is survived by his son, Stanley E. Reedy, Jr. and wife, Linda (son) of Castleberry, Ala.; and three daughters, Cheryl Noe & husband Jerry of Fort Collins, Colo., Janice Carroll and husband Gary of Orlando, Fla., and Theresa Bennett of Deltona, Fla.; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Bruce Reedy; and his wife, Louise Reedy. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Fleegle & Helfenbein Funeral Home, 106 W. Sunset, Greensboro, where a visitation will be held one hour prior. Interment will be in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, Md. Letters of condolence may be via www.fleegleandhelfenbein.com.
