MILLSBORO ─ Due to dangerous road conditions and the predicted overnight freezing temperatures, several towns have announced their town halls and offices will be closed on Jan. 26.
They include Millsboro, Georgetown , Dagsboro and Greenwood.
The Georgetown Town Council meeting for Jan. 26 is cancelled. Agenda items will be added to the Feb. 9 town council Meeting.
The Dagsboro town council meeting scheduled for Jan. 26 has been moved to Feb. 2.
For weather-related reasons, Frankford Town Hall will be opening no sooner than 10 a.m. on Jan. 26.
Sussex County government offices will be also be closed Jan. 26. Additionally, the Jan. 26 Board of Adjustment meeting is postponed; agenda items will be rescheduled.
Delaware state courts
All State of Delaware court facilities – with the exception of the 24-hour Justice of the Peace Courts – will be closed Jan. 26.
Delayed opening at Mountaire plants
Mountaire’s Millsboro and Selbyville processing plants will be opening three hours late on Jan. 26., the company announced.
Georgetown parking restrictions end
The Town of Georgetown announced all parking restrictions along designated snow emergency routes were to be lifted at 7 p.m. on Jan. 25., Town Manager Eugene Dvornick announced.
Residents and visitors are urged to use caution, as there may still be some slippery road conditions due to the extreme cold temperatures.
